Can anyone from the #QualitativeResearch world help with a quick query? Any guidance on reporting ‘how’ participants said something? Talking specifically as gallows / dark humour as a coping mechanism. And any links to relevant research concerning this in #TeacherWellbeing? #BlueskyEPs

Now reading your post again, I wonder if my reply is what you meant. I was just thinking that if you use a reflexive approach you can reference that element and it’s harder to do that with some qual approaches.

But yes, it’s present in the transcripts throughout and I guess (being reflexive / acknowledging insider perspectives) I was noticing how juxtaposed the laughter was with the content today.

I think what I’ve settled on is just using a phrase like, “Participant pseudonym said laughing,…” and then put the quote? I figure that when I’m reporting how things were said that as long as I’m consistent, it’s okay?
