chapter 4/6: #matchablossom and the art of denial of feelings in the teeth of all evidence archiveofourown.org/works/619241...

fic excerpt:

It’s not a date, Kojiro reminds himself for the tenth time that night. It can’t possibly be a date, because he and Kaoru don’t date, because they’re not boyfriends—they’re friends, yes, and also rivals, fellow skaters, ex-kindergarten-enemies, each other’s shadow and reflection and keeper of childhood grudges. And also people who sleep with each other sometimes, but not boyfriends.

Chapter 5/6: #matchablossom seeing each other again in Italy after a long time apart...wonder if it'll lead to any...inconvenient feelings..... archiveofourown.org/works/619241...

Fic excerpt:

But what if Kojiro’s the one who doesn’t recognise Kaoru?

That’s stupid too, he thinks. But he finds himself unable to shake the thought as he nervously scans the faces of the people who’re beginning to stream out of arrivals. Surely he’ll recognise Kaoru, even if Kaoru has shaved his head and started wearing hawaiian shirts like Kojiro does, surely Kojiro will still know his face. He’s looked at their old photos often enough these last two years. Sometimes, he even sees Kaoru in his dreams.

My #matchablossom fic is finally complete! After 11k words of fucking around, they're finally finding out (about each other's feelings)! archiveofourown.org/works/619241...

Fic excerpt: Kojiro is certainly the more careful one when it comes to Kaoru’s health; he’d been the one to practically sit on Kaoru to get him to stay in the damn hospital. He’d also cheerfully narc'd on Kaoru every time he lied to his doctor about not having headaches or nausea, no matter how hard Kaoru glared. But even he has to admit that six straight days of “That’s to be expected for a concussion” and nothing else probably means Kaoru isn’t on the brink of death, and all of Kaoru’s scans have repeatedly come up clean. So when Kaoru falls asleep at Sia La Luce’s counter, Kojiro decides against wheeling him back to the hospital (where he’ll have to sit on an irritable Kaoru all night) and instead takes him home.
