have a meeting w/ a parent whose kid is basically too anxious to come to school so she wants a 504 plan for them I'm never sure what the fuck to do in situations like these. we have students who have tha attendance policy waived, even if they don't have a doctor's note, because they are diabetic

Anxiety is specially tricky because it doesn't get better if you keep evading and not learning to deal with it. Of course the amount of nuance is immense and case by case basis. But I feel there is many skills people just think are too hard or harsh to teach disabled children.
