#TBRuary Day 11: Social Strata I enjoy reading history. I had picked this one a long time back but it just vanished somewhere in my TBR pile. Curious how that keeps happening. 📚 #booksky #readingcommunity #writesky #writingcommunity

Photo of the front cover of the book 'Akbar, The Great Mughal' by Ira Mukhoty. It shows a mughal style painting with Akbar in a full sleeve light malachite green kurta with a string of pearls around his neck, riding on a fancy bejeweled elephant.

An attendant clad in a brown kurta sits behind him, near the tail of the elephant and fans him with an orange fan that's curiously shaped like a flame...

The emperor's party seems to be composed of a lot of people, quite a few of them on adorned elephants, and they seem to be in a forest crossing a stream or a water body of some sort.
