@aggrend.bsky.social Been loving Phase 8. Really enjoy the overall vibes and aesthetics of the Scarlet Crusade. Out of curiosity, I remember hearing that this started as a 5man dungeon and turned into a 8boss raid. What was the dungeon itself like? Was it still a quasi-zone like Phase 8?

The dungeon thing never really got past the idea phase. I think we knew pretty early that we didn't want to do that and our hearts weren't in it, which is ultimately why we pivoted to making it a raid. I think that was the right choice. Way more work, but the right choice.

I think I speak for many when we say that we're curious about what it's like to develop content for WoW. How is it all architected? Do the level makers request assets from the artists? Who sets the creative direction? How much leeway do other teams have in implementing this vision?

Definitely the better choice for sure. Been loving the raid overall, and it makes Phase 8 feel chunkier than had it been just a dungeon.

Honestly, it's probably the most interesting raid I've seen in ages in WOW. I really hope more people will be able to enjoy it in future versions because it's worth it.

I think since the first tease, everyone thought it was going to be a raid. I can't imagine the outcry if it came out as a dungeon only.
