I was already considering dropping Prismatic Ending since Wear // Tear deals with most hate pieces even more efficiently, and the combination of Flame of Anor and Fire Magic handles most creatures. Flashback seemed like a very natural flex card to slot into a list built like this.

It's a very simple card design-wise, but it enables several interesting lines for Storm: - You can Grapeshot → Flashback → Grapeshot without needing Past in Flames. This is why I (sadly) went back to maindeck Grapeshot with this list instead of playing my favourite surprise card, Stormscale Scion.

- In grinder games, Flashback lets you replay an impulse draw from your graveyard cheaply, which is sometimes all you need to find the right removal pieces or continue playing the attrition game. - Ritual → Flashback → Ritual isn't great, but it's still +3 mana and +3 storm with a reducer out.
