"Ophiuchus" by Mara Aphelion

I don’t really have the right to be angry,
and even as I hold the remnants
of a dying comet burning
into the atmosphere of my core, I am not.

But for a moment, there was comfort
in you being lightyears away.
Kindness in each second
you spend staring past my collapsing frame.
A certain mercy in sullen screaming,
weeping into the endless, lightless void
as it fills with infinite supernovas—
my senses led to be alight through your meaningless words.

Only to be meaningless
for I stole all your intentions
and made them my own.
