Yeah this is what makes me upset about his comments. Cis people seem to think he’s pretending to be transphobic to get votes - he seems to be saying he thinks there should just be more reasonable anti-trans laws. Which is still bigotry, just a shade more polite.

liberals should read what he actually said. he said that his votes were based on republican overreach in those bills but that he wants to write better ones. he literally is saying that in a democratic majority he will help write new anti-trans bills.
