A bond channel’s joke about the Bank of Russia’s “victory” over inflation. The key rate was reduced to 18% because of political pressure. The ruble is abnormally strong, and inflation will soar once it inevitably starts to decline.

"Economic miracle," or the Central Bank's victory over inflation.
One day Ivan is sitting in the kitchen, looking out the window, drinking tea with bagels. On TV they announce: "Inflation has slowed down to 4% SAAR! The Central Bank has achieved its goal!"
Ivan sighs, opens the fridge — and it's empty except for a jar of pickles and a pack of butter, which now costs as much as caviar.
- Well, at least they stopped inflation... - he mutters.
Then neighbor Vasily comes in:
- Heard? They say prices hardly rise anymore!
- Yeah, - Ivan nods. - Now they just never go down.
Vasily thoughtfully:
— And analysts say this is a victory.
— Of course it's a victory! - Ivan laughs. — Before we were running after prices going up, now we just stand on the edge of an abyss and admire the view.
