Signal --> gesture Part of Rowan and Callix's first interaction. Rowan has been instructed to take out the Seekers that have been spotted around his Order's settlement. #WIPSnips #writingcommunity #writesky #writingprompts

They will try to hurt you. Do not be afraid to draw blood.

Rowan’s gaze traveled over the man briefly, searching for any other weapons he might have on him. The stench of his magic made Rowan’s nose burn. There was something else there below the citrus, something salty like sea air, and something sweet, like honey.

“You think I can't subdue you?” he asked.

The Seeker lifted a brow. “I know you can't, but I have no interest in fighting, and I have nothing against you. So put your claws away. You're about as intimidating as a feral kitten.”

Rowan glared at him, his free hand wandering to his side to grab his dagger. He hated him. Hated him. S'kekshayra devotees always thought they were better than everyone else. He had to make sure he struck first.

“Look,” the man said, releasing Rowan’s arm and holding his hands up in a placating gesture. He moved slowly, as if Rowan was now the deer, and he was trying not to scare him away. He grasped his bow and tossed it to the side, then his morningstar. “I'm not armed. We are capable of having a peaceful conversation. Can I ask a few questions?”
