I wish i could call Dawntrail anything other than bland. It didn't do anything to make me -hate- it but it also failed to do anything with its many components to really draw me in either. If at any point it stopped to care about its characters and setting, I'd likely be less ambivalent to it all.

But it feels more like a shallow tour of the area and its peoples rather than an exploration of any kind of narrative to be invested in. We're hitting the points of where a story -should- exist... but gods help me if I can point to any part of the journey that I remember fondly or passionately.

I'll say it until the day I die, the six cultures should have been cut down to like three if they wanted us to actually care about them. We could have done without the Hanuhanu part of the quest where they forgot their ritual that makes the field glow and the crops grow is actually magic.
