Dr Nicola Parry @vetpathophile.bsky.social · 14/06/2025This one is a fibropapilloma! Colloquially known as the feline sarcoid, because its histopath appearance is identical to an equine sarcoid. 110
Tenrecidae @tenrec77.bsky.social · 15/06/2025I was worried it might be something along that line. Girl, I haaaaate sarcoids. : ( Really impressive histology though, there. It's crazy to see the relatively normal epithelium and then....just this huge ocean of not-reallly-dermis 210
Tenrecidae @tenrec77.bsky.social · 15/06/2025(Also what's with the close-up of what I assume is skin adnexa? Tell me about that plz) 110
Dr Nicola Parry @vetpathophile.bsky.social · 15/06/2025Yes, I’m with you in the sarcoid hate! And all that abnormal dermis — it’s been invaded by all those sarcoid spindle cells. You really only see their dark nuclei as being well defined — kind of oval / triangular. But their cytoplasm is pink and kind of blends in with the dermal collagen. 010
