The sight of the sparse, terraced fields of Sund is accompanied by the smell of cut grass and manure. A group of farmers is running away from a scarecrow, brought to life by the magical influence of the nearby Duskthorn Grove. Its purple, lush vegetation is in stark contrast with the muted greens and yellows of the Sund pastures.

The pathways between the fields lead to a fenced area, where a rusty toolshed overlooks a lone playground. To its back there’s an enclosed garden with an aged tombstone, and two old cherry trees that seem to carry a story. Above them, hidden among rocky outcrops, lays a runic inscription that would need to be inspected closely to be made out, but no obvious way to reach it can be seen nearby.

Characters

Two farmers are blocking the way to Duskthorn Grove, explaining there have been mysterious disappearances past this point
An old lady sitting nearby the old toolshed, explains part of the history of the two cherry trees and the tombstone there. She also gives a passing mention of Rustlings
A kid hiding in the trees in the north-east of the fields explains more about Rustlings, they come out at night near the springs in Duskthorn Grove
A farmer needs help with dangerous living weeds
