Honestly this just rubs salt in the wound. The only take-away is that they didn't convict and sentence him for these crimes because too many people didn't want that to happen.

Whenever a MAGA chud argues, "every prosecutor thinks they can win!!" show them this graph. Federal prosecutors have an unmatched 92% conviction rate because they are meticulous in bringing charges against the guilty. Even those that went to trial have an 83% conviction rate.

While I do believe that convicted felons should be able to run for office, I believe that it should be a crime to suppress any substantiated evidence of such crimes. Think not? What happens when Trump's DOJ convicts, thru a kangaroo court, the Democrats' front runner for 2028? 2032? 2036..?

If being elected wipes away the law's ability to hold a criminal accountable... that law is not written well enough. Criminals, no matter how low nor high, should pay penalties for their crimes. Criminals shouldn't be allowed to run for nor win elections. But that's just my silly old view. 🙄

He tried to twist the truth, to cheat,
To hold unto power, skip defeat.
Pressed states to fake what all could see.
Ignored the will of you and me.

He urged electors to defy.
Made false claims that reached the sky.
A mob was sent to storm the halls,
To halt the vote, to breach the walls.

Though proof was clear, no justice came.
His second term, a lasting stain.
