Yesterday's flash in the Grand Canyon was caused by heavy thunderstorms over fire-ravaged land. Similar to the glacial collapse that caused the horrific destruction in Nepal last week, both of those risk factors become more common and severe with global climate change.
BREAKING: The National Park Service says more than 20 may be missing after a “significant flash flood” hit the Grand Canyon on Saturday.
“If you know of anyone who may have been hiking or backpacking in these areas, please contact the NPS Investigative Services Branch Tip Line: 888-653-0009,”
