This is what I mean by politically managed access. The sea is not formally closed. Cargo is still moving. But access is increasingly dependent on political and military arrangements which sit outside the ordinary commercial system. The right to transit is becoming a privilege that must be enabled.

Hormuz has already shown us the commercial version of this. See The Guardian headline and by-line tell different stories. Largely return to pre-war levels, but needing to be clarified that is by "alternative ways". That alternative is the workaround some are finding to normalise the situation.
