7/20 Strategically, Hormuz remains 10/10: critical. Another reported strike during transit reinforces the central point of my assessment. A ship passing through the strait is an event, while a dependable passage regime requires ordinary vessels to complete voyages without being attacked.

8/20 We do not yet know whether the UKMTO reported vessel used the northern route, southern route, recognised TSS or a facilitated passage. Until we do, we cannot say whether the incident challenges Iranian assurances, US protection claims or both, nor assess why the vessel may have been selected.
