4/15 A new NavWarn has been issued for a piracy hijacking in the Gulf of Aden overnight. This is in the same vicinity as the earlier attempted hijacking reported by the UKMTO. I will be keeping watch to see if this adds to the over 90 crew members currently being held in Somalia by pirates.

5/15 In Iraq, UKMTO 131-26 records a tanker being hit 28 nautical miles southeast of Al-Faw. The IMO identifies NEW ANDROS, IMO 9294252, and records damage but no pollution. The UKMTO reported the crew safe and no environmental impact reported.

6/15 Iraq's oil ministry said the reported hull damage was minor, the crew uninjured and no cargo had leaked. Port officials described a drone strike and fire; the ministry left the source unknown. That distinction matters: the attack is reported, but a spill from this ship is not.
