1/25 Good morning - long thread as a lot has happened. CENTCOM has tied the destruction of Iranian tankers to imposing economic costs on Iran. That should concern anyone involved in commercial shipping. A merchant ship and the people aboard it are now being discussed as instruments of punishment.

2/25 On 5 September, CENTCOM said it had disabled DOWNY and STARK 1 and destroyed the unladen KYLO after Iranian missile attacks on US warships. Its explanation linked the tankers to IRGC funding and presented their loss as economic retaliation.
