Ash Oro @ashoro.co.uk · 21/08/202615/16 This is how I tend to think about risk at sea too. One hazard rarely causes the catastrophe. Problems occur when several tolerable risks become correlated. Weather. Cargo. Machinery. Fatigue. Navigation. Each individually manageable. Then suddenly they are all happening together. 1100
Ash Oro @ashoro.co.uk · 21/08/202616/16 The same principle applies here. Hormuz is one risk. Fertiliser availability is another. Drought and heat are another. ENSO is another. The thing to watch is not any one of them in isolation. It is whether they begin reinforcing each other. #Climate #FoodSecurity #TheHormuzCrisis 1142
Malt_Dismay @malt-dismay.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Great piece. I’m here in Japan, it’s hotter, earlier this year and typhoons started earlier, are more frequent, and coming from the East rather than the Southeast. The Pacific is HOTTER!🔥 130
