6/10 For the crews already there, it’s just as difficult. Contracts expire Relief doesn’t come Time stretches And this is where it becomes dangerous. Because fatigue at sea doesn’t hit all at once. To paraphrase Hemmingway: It builds slowly, then quickly.

7/10 I’ve experienced a version of this myself. I once spent 7.5 months onboard after losing my father. By the end, I wasn’t just tired. I was empty. The difference is, I chose to stay.
