Section 106 is part of the National Historic Preservation Act that protects our cultural heritage from destruction and ensures community consultation. They want to make consultation with Tribes, local governments, and YOU (the public) optional instead of required.

And they want to strip authority from the State Historic Preservation offices. All in all, the new rules will lead to massive destruction of archaeological and historical sites. I know there's a ton going on right now, but I encourage you to look into it and take action as you are able.
