1) 🇬🇧 The ME Association is recruiting patients for a study that will test oxygenation and energy recovery in the calf muscles of ME/CFS patients. The study will use non-invasive technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS).

2) The project is led by Professors Ladislav Valkovič and Karl Morten at the Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR). In 2023, their team performed similar tests in patients with hereditary mitochondrial disease. Now they want to test ME/CFS.

3) The study consists of two parts. Stage 1 will form a baseline and is now seeking participants. It will compare calf-muscle metabolism in people with mild ME/CFS to sedentary, healthy controls.
