3) The Nanopore method will make it possible to look at rare DNA variants that are associated with ME/CFS. These are likely to have more dramatic effects and will help to pinpoint genes and biological pathways involved in ME/CFS pathology. It means we will have better clues.

5) The study hopes to sequence more than just the 6000 DecodeME samples, though. The goal is to test 9000 ME/CFS and 9000 Long Covid DNA samples with these latest, high-tech methods. It's very expensive, so the project proceeds in multiple phases.
