In Dayton, Ohio, this marker is in Triangle Park, just north of the confluence of the Stillwater and Great Miami Rivers. Site of the first NFL game (more on that tomorrow), the city and the league planned to construct a new artificial turf football field in the park, in honor of the league’s centennial season in 2019, but construction was halted when a lawsuit (and subsequent investigation) revealed that the park may sit atop a prehistoric Native American burial ground.
