If you want to see me doing this in a different way, there's the replies to a local Nextdoor post. I don't think Katherine thinks that I'm 'supporting the homeless economy,' but I definitely think she didn't read the comments thoroughly before responding.

It is reality, no negativity. Most of these places are full or overflowing. I work hard everyday looking for help for my clients, but the money just isn't there for these organizations. As soon as help opens up, it closes.

I don't think publicly siding with what Lee and Herman are saying reflects well on your professionalism but if perhaps I've misunderstood you, and you would like to have a discussion about this issue in particular, my DMs are always open and I am always working to try to support resources in Athens.

Great map to sustaining homelessness and enriching the homeless economy. I appreciate that you included the the public library to ensure it’s used to fullest capabilities: who needs children at the library when the homeless phones need to be charged. But as long as you feel good about yourself. That’s what matters in the homeless economy

For the record: Lee is a resident of Falling Shoals, an upper middle-class community outside of Athens proper. He's never been to our public library, but he seems to think that homeless people are charging their phones in the children's section of our library. The charging station is upstairs.

Falling Shoals is a single-family home community in Athens, Georgia, built between 2004 and 2016. It currently has no homes for sale. The homes range in size from 1,601 ft2 to 4,660 ft2. For the record, yes, I did look into the people who replied to my post and said things. They're all from upper middle-class communities outside of Athens. Those are the people who have problems with the homeless. The townies actually care.
