“Heightening and accelerating” the status quo makes no sense at all. If you change it, it’s not the status quo I suspect that my politics are not that dissimilar to yours. I just differ in understanding that this regime is exceptionally bad whereas you seem to want to concede that it is normal

I appreciate there are legitimate distinctions in the debate in the thread above. But I'm also aware that in the larger context of our current time, and the changes required for us all to survive, those distinctions pale in the face of our fundamental agreements fighting the right and fascism.

It’s not pedantic. It’s important to really understand the ways in which this republican admin is different and worse than prior iterations as well as how it’s the natural conclusion of previous trends. You can’t combat this if you don’t understand what it is
