So I'm a pc player but use a steam controller because I can't be arsed to rebind everything to be nice for left handed use, I try and have all my layouts kinda match between each role type. Single target skills are always on the right and aoe on the left of the main skills.

I do something similar in matching by role, but with keyboard and MMO mouse. The least frequent ones I use Alt+number because I usually fail to properly input them for some reason. Still, every few months I change the keybinds for some reason or another.

Less used Utility abilities always go on the wxhb bars. I also have a mode shift setup so the L grip shifts abxy to a dpad and LB shifts abxy to F1-4 and double press abxy is f5-8 to make healing a lot easier on controller.
