JWST observed the Class 0 protostar HOPS-383 yesterday. This data was processed by @thocarp.bsky.social www.flickr.com/photos/19746...

This is a near-infrared image from the James Webb Space Telescope's NIRCam instrument, showcasing a complex and dynamic region of star formation. Bright wisps and filaments of gas and dust, illuminated by the powerful radiation from young stars, swirl and intertwine, creating a textured and ethereal scene. The image is dominated by warm hues, with areas of intense star formation glowing brightly in shades of red and orange. Darker, denser regions of gas and dust appear as shadowy silhouettes against the brighter background, hinting at the ongoing processes of stellar birth and the intricate structures of the interstellar medium. The overall effect is one of awe-inspiring beauty and complexity, revealing the raw energy and creative forces at work in the early universe.
