Exoplanet system containing an exoplanet orbiting a white dwarf. processed JWST/MIRI data by landru79 (X). NASA/ESA/CSA/STScI/j. Roger 🔭 🧪

A high-resolution image captured by the MIRI instrument on the James Webb Space Telescope shows a distant exoplanet orbiting a white dwarf star. The planet appears as a faint blue dot against the black background of space. The white dwarf star is slightly larger and brighter than the planet, and it emits a bluish-white light.
