Here's the GOP's problem: In a good economy, you can tell echo-chamber supporters it's bad & they'll believe you, thinking they're [smart/lucky] because it's not their [state/town/industry]. When the economy is hard¹ & you tell them it's great, they still feel bad so they feel lied to.
