The CCF/NDP grew out of the populist soil of Canada, founded by prairie farmers and workers. I’m proud to have the support of agriculture leaders today, fighting for food sovereignty and against corporate control of our food system. We’re rebuilding the NDP for every community, including farmers.

Harold Steves endorses Avi Lewis for NDP leader. Quote: "With drought, wildfires and flooding increasing around the world, we are headed for an uncertain future. We need to return to the democratic socialist policies of previous NDP governments of Tommy Douglas and Dave Barrett that brought us many of the benefits we have today. If Avi Lewis is elected leader, we will have a fighting chance."

Those are our roots along with the legacy of ministers like JS Woodsworth and Tommy Douglas. I am so proud of our roots!

Farmers, small business owners, fishers, tradespeople. All have similar interests and a common opponent. Not sure how the NDP lost its way so badly.
