The federal government must get back into the business of building public housing. And these public homes shouldn’t just be safe and comfortable – they should be beautiful. There’s no reason for the public to be shabby. The public should be beautiful – it’s ours.

Homelessness is a political choice, not an inevitability. Conservative politicians prioritize clearing encampments instead of building affordable housing. The Carney Liberals are cutting housing spending by more than 50%. We need an all-hands-on-deck approach to stop homelessness before it starts.

Nearly 1 in 6 Indigenous people live in homes in serious disrepair, unsuitable for the number of people living there. This is a national emergency. There can be no reconciliation without housing justice for Indigenous communities. Righting this historic wrong is a moral and legal imperative.
