$: learn a new skill: sewing, gardening, carpentry, butchering, short-wave radio, book binding. Pick something you're interested in and invest in yourself.

time: call Congress. Call them today. The "budget" bill is STUFFED with non-budget legislation they're trying to sneak through using an expedited protocol designed to keep the government funded. It's a party line vote, but there is so much dissent from the GOP that Trump moved himself for a personal visit to Congress yesterday. Make this politically expensive. Make him skip golf and make promises he'll never keep. Talk to your friends. If they don't believe you, tell them to call their Rep and ask. Make the Trump regime work hard to get this through the house, and if they succeed, start in on the Senate.

prep: have you found a local group yet? Meetings are largely online and optional these days. Emails will tell you about opportunities to get involved. If you tried one group and it was a flop, try another. Doesn't have to be political -- join an art docent program, or volunteer to read in the schools. Just find a place for organic community-building, if you haven't already.
