Proofs arrived today! My chapter “Literacy and Language Revitalization” will soon be published in the Encyclopedia of Applied Linguistics. More to come.

A screenshot of the first page of a book chapter titled "Literacy and Language Revitalization" by Paul Meighan. The introduction discusses how language revitalization seeks to reverse language loss caused by colonialism and other oppressive forces. It defines language revitalization as a global, contextual process often tied to literacy practices. The text explains that literacy varies across cultures and includes ideological implications. Four types of literacy—functional, social, autonomous, and local—are listed, highlighting the importance of context. The watermark “PROOF” is visible in the background.
