Mayqo'te day 27 : Noir A bit far-fetched theme-wise, but so many things are rotten in Ishgard #mayqote #mayqote2026 #ffxiv

Noir

“Another day, another round of bullshit trials” D’lohi sighed, extracting themselves with some difficulty out of the dingy inn’s bed they’ve been renting since what’s left of the scions fled to Ishgard. Even then, as much as the Warrior of Light, Alphinaud and Tataru, the miqo’te was a ward of House Fortemps, they’ve elected to put as much distance between them and their host, mostly due to how bad the relation with Fortemps’ heir son got after the first meeting.

Not long after arriving in the holy city, D’lohi discovered first hand how the judicial system worked as a random knight attempted to frame the miqo’te for heresy. The process being somewhat expedient and courtroom being empty should have been a source of concern, but Haurchefant timely intervention allowed a trial by combat to be granted, easily allowing the miqo'te to clear their name.

With the help of Yaelle, D’lohi investigated their prosecutor and his chain of command, allowing them to understand why they got pulled into this mess. A high ranking inquisitor named Hubert, who was attempting to avenge his bruised ego from the debacle surrounding a bunch of adventurers uncovering a heretic’s plant within the inquisition, by trying to get rid of all involved.

Since then, while the Warrior of Light was running errands for house Fortemps. D’lohi kept an eye on Hubert's doing, on whom he sent to trial, championing for them whenever it was possible, while also making sure the miqo’te’s friends were out of judicial reach. An unexpected consequence from all these courtroom activities was that D’lohi started to gain a city-wide reputation as a defender of the little folk, bringing upon them increased scrutiny.
