Keeping the goals of the product in focus & running regular performance & regression tests to ensure the quality of the code is what keeps this from being “slop,” even though I’ve written zero lines of the code by hand & don’t even know how to write code of any real complexity that way.

What you need to do this is just a few things: 1. Clear product vision 2. Curiosity about what you don’t know 3. The ability to reason about complex systems 4. A humility about your own limitations 5. Openness to critical feedback That’s it!
