maybe I read the defensiveness into your replies, but in the same manner as I put emotion into your writing, you thought we were trying not to include feelings. I happen to think emotions are an important part of discussions like this. and I'm pissed off. and definitely ranting 🫡

I would not bother to cede any ground on this. It was a perfectly understandable analogy even to me with my disabilities. The barrier to understanding it isn't the way you wrote it, the barrier is how much the reader is willing to entertain an opposing view for the purpose of critical analysis. I at least analyse before I reject. But to analyse is to risk challenges to bias and then accept the information presented: to change your mind. So people invested in their position won't ever risk even trying to understand. So The reason they do not understand is because they refuse to try. They do not argue in good faith.
