You connect two GBAs with a link cable, one with your Gen2 game and the other the transfer ROM. Through some witzardry, you actually REMOVE THE ROM CART. From there, it's as if you were trading Pokemon! Here's the video I found that goes in depth on it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7mU...

Having this cart also allowed me to "inject" the event items into my game as all all of the distributions were on specially made games for these kinds of things. (Picture is not mine, these things go for THOUSANDS of dollars, no joke)

Some people get their hands on these distribution cartridges and create working ROMs of them so that more folks like me can get these super rare, timed-event-locked Pokemon without having to build a time machine.
