We have released code that can be inserted into extension modules to fix the bug. It carries a permissive open source license. Thank NASA for this. This work was supported by NASA ADAP grant 80NSSC21K1421. It resulted directly from our astronomical data processing needs. Every major company in the world uses Python extensively, has this problem, and did not solve it. NASA funded scientists did.
