Sworn Brothers: The Connection Between Theater and Gaming - Typebar Magazine

Games have been adapted to film, but are they meant for theater?

Congrats to the Pacific Drive team but if only I had a super slick article in a super cool litmag about how we should stop making games into TV and movies and make them into weird interactive theater stuff instead featuring Yakuza's legendary theatrical adaptation as a case study

A number of my professors at USC Games had theatre backgrounds, btw!

This was such a good read! I'm going to have to watch that Yakuza play now. Do you have any other favourite plays? :)

This was really good, to ^^ Look forward to watching Yakuza's Stage Play soon! (Also, idk if you've seen the Almeida Production of Macbeth where the set design and costumes were closer to like, World War 2 than what you'd expect from a classic Shakespearean experience, it was hella rad)

So into this. :) Players are also *audiences*, and I think it's important to remember that.

Yo this was awesome. I appreciate the revelation that games are inherently absurd. It fits with my experience, but I never heard it outright!

I’m not a theatre guy but this article and a freaking Yakuza stage play are really making me consider putting in the time. Fantastic read, thank you for sharing!
