1--🧵 well, yea. but why does the burden for easing affordibility for people in this state rest solely with the private sector and private business? california has the highest state. income taxes, the second-highest gas taxes and us in the top 10 of st. sales taxes (LA county, where I am, has a ➡️➡️

2--sakes tax of 9.75%..........for a few more months, when it goes up to 10.25%. mix in high insurance costs across the board (Google "ricardo lara travel"and see the type of buffoons we elect out here), the bureaucratic mega-nightmare that is CEQA (california environmental quality act; pic) ➡️➡️

3--hovering over just about all construction in this state, driving up costs and stretching out timelines on building to comical degrees and that the state's budget has doubled in 10 years (while our population has flatlined). yet, politicians (just about all democrats in LA, where I am; 1/4 th➡️➡️
