Hi Arthur! I skipped to the working memory section - thought I would mention that Philip Smith has a ton of work on a sample-size law that explains set-size effects that is neglected by the field; I think it deserves attention in your piece if you get to revise it. psycnet.apa.org/fulltext/201...

My preprint with @mdlbayes.bsky.social on inferring the representation underlying cognitive tasks has been updated: osf.io/preprints/ps.... It has a new title, upgrades of our previous models, additional analyses, and a stronger discussion that reflects our deeper and clearer thinking. /1

Thank you!! It is really great that you find task-specific representations. (I wonder why the similarity task should have this specific representation. Presumably the specific objective of this task, combined with a prior over orientations that favors cardinal directions). I'll have a look at Smith.
