I've been playing with the idea of creating a public-facing YouTube channel or community elsewhere, forming a team of researchers with the same mission to create and synthesis knowledge, responding to what the public is asking about or wants to know. Maybe throw in some citizen science there too.

I would call it the "Centre of Attention" (fun name, no?). Sadly at present, this would be in the spare time for many scientists, likely very risky and/or unrewarding. Credit for this idea also to @noraplethora.bsky.social, who has floated similar ideas to me in our past discussions!

Would like to see what #cognitivepsychology or #attention researchers think (and more importantly, whether they take any action in terms of reforming research: I want less "it's a good idea" and more "what can I do to make this happen". Advice for myself too...)
