Part of the risk mitigation consideration is of course our own club. If we were sat comfortably in the top half, we could afford to take more risk..knowing the worst case isn't that bad (kinda like Spurs with some of their 'punt' signings). As it is, if Everton get it wrong..the risk is relegation.
