I genuinely have no idea what constitutes “respecting” a character at this point, because from the shit I’ve seen on the internet, disrespect apparently includes any time something bad happens to them, any time someone doesn’t like them, and any time they have a character flaw

I’m getting flashbacks to people somehow thinking Luke Skywalker was being mocked by making him a traumatized war veteran who went to live his own isolated life on a backwater planet as a weird old hermit man, something which we all know has never ever happened before in Star Wars

I really don't get the reaction to Lanterns, I'm not deep in the trenches of Green Lantern but when I was reading 90's DC comics and Hal Jordan would he appear he would be doing controversial stuff
