She noted that the UK's approach to atrocity prevention has not been updated since 2019, despite the increasing use of identity-based atrocity violence against civilians. ✅ FCDO Minister @catherinewestmp.bsky.social acknowledged the concern & committed to taking the issue forward - a welcome step.

💭 The broader challenge remains: mass atrocity crimes are becoming a systematic feature of modern malign statecraft, used deliberately to destroy, displace & entrench power. As this kind of violence increasingly shapes geopolitical realities, the UK must update its approach accordingly.
