Keir Starmer is simply wrong in law. A trans woman with a Gender Recognition Certificate is considered a woman for the vast majority of legal purposes, as required by the ECHR. One would expect a former human rights lawyer to have a better grasp of legal detail.

His position is so odd it makes me paranoid whether it's intended not to win public votes but rather to undermine any future leadership contest. A contender will either have to line up with his rightwing position, or run against it and get Corbynd out of existence by the party terfs. Weird situation

... unless he plans to ignore all past laws, judgments, contexts, whatever. Other UK governments have demonstrated that they were willing to walk down that lane, at least partly. Certainly, he is stepping deeper into the quagmire for now. Deliberately, one must assume. And stress is a bad advisor.

It’s only wrong until the UK leaves the ECoHR, which is what pursuing this will require Labour to do. And Keir Starmer will absolutely sacrifice human rights (as well as any chance of rejoining or even FoM initiatives) to enact his fascist policy.

It strikes me Keir Starmer would say anything for perceived political gain and that’s exactly what he thinks he’ll get by selling us down the river. The Tories can’t taunt him by asking what a woman is anymore. Just look at all his other U-turns. He seems to have no genuine core values.

So do trans men now have to use women's bathrooms as they are born female? This "ruling" is beyond me on so many levels. What if one of his children wants to come out? Where would that leave him? All people need safe spaces and this means we're going backwards. Trans women are women. 🏳️‍⚧️

When did the GRC become so important? Without it were also protected. Wasn't a GRC to change birth/death cert and affected prison went to? Now sounds like needed one to use loo.
