Martin @concretebadger.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I think that's the kicker: certain things have fluctuated in price over time, eg. housing and utility bills take up a higher % of a monthly budget now than, say, consumer goods or food. So if someone feels that food is expensive now, that's probably because so their rent ate so much of their salary 110

They retort with "but mortgage interest rates were higher!" to which I point out that mortgages were still smaller way back when 040
