15/70 projectors were being installed as late as the late oughts. Not GTs but there are a lot of SLs and MPXs out there. The problem likely really is lacking projectionists to actually run more of them.
@charlespulliam.bsky.socialDo think that if IMAX wanted to lock in, it *probably* could find the right people to manufacture more projectors to make 70mm screenings more accessible. But it would take a lot of money and love for the game to make it happen, which companies aren't exactly hot for. "We can't" feels like bs, tho
